This website will be about the musings of an Englishman running The Whisky Shop Dufftown and living in Scotland.  There will be a lot of whisky related items but lots of other things that come to my strange mind.  They will not be related to the business side of my shop.  For all that go to The Whisky Shop Dufftown.  I could have called this “Notes from the Centre of the Middle of Nowhere”.

I bought The Whisky Shop Dufftown in 2006 and I moved to Dufftown in 2008 to take full time responsibility for my business.  This is when it really took off and we have been building our brand ever since.  We have been lucky enough to win several awards and I am a judge for The World Whisky Awards.

It was a big change to move from a job in Financial Services in London to little Dufftown which is quite remote.  It is set in beautiful Scottish country side which never stops giving all year round.
